Participating in Medical Research Studies is a excellent way to help fund university education, or just save for the things you want in life, perhaps a holiday? Many research volunteers are in full time or part time jobs, and contribute . Whether you are in retail, customer service or any other career, why not consider helping researchers find new treatments, and in developing existing treatments.

Clinical Trials volunteers are needed right throughout the UK to participate in Medical Research Studies. These Clinical Trials, Medical Trials or Drug Trials are strictly governed by Authorities and Overseen by Ethics Committees, to ensure the up-most safety of research volunteers.

BioTrax is the leading Clinical Trials Listing Service on the Internet, and lists all known Medical Research activities, which includes all the non-Invasive research activities we know of, throughout the US. This amounts to 100

Study 381 :STANDARDIZED PATIENT PROGRAMS
Iowa
Type of StudyStandardized Patient Program.

Aim of StudyStandardized patients are trained to simulate medical and mental health conditions in a standardized, believable and reliable manner.
Inclusion CriteriaWe are looking for a good representation of the patient pool. Our youngest SP is 14 years old, and the oldest is 85 years old. We are looking for men and women of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
AreaMust live in Iowa City, IOWA
DurationYou may be called on to learn several roles, or you may perform the same role for a particular clerkship's PBA each time. You may participate frequently, or you may work once every 6 - 8 weeks. You may not work in each exam for which you are available. Depending on the cases that are being used for a given year, there is a great variety in this aspect of this program.

No one person is expected to commit to every exam; we work with your schedule to arrange training and rehearsals, and we will communicate with you about your interest and availability for each exam.

ReimbursementSPs are currently paid $10 per hour of training, and $15 per hour of exam performance.
Other InfoFor Standardized Patients
There are several personal and life style qualities that successful SPs have in common:

Flexible work schedule: the needs of the program vary from month to month. I can sometimes tell you a year in advance when I will need you and sometimes I will call the week or day before.

Ease with people: because we work with so many different students in so many different stages of training, it is important to really like people and like working with students.

Comfort with your body: you need to be willing to have physical exams done, sometimes more than once during a session.

Comfortable "being on stage": while you are not physically on a stage, you are performing a part. You are likely to perform that same part repeatedly within a 4-8 hour period as each student gets a chance to interact with your case.

Good observation skills: as you will be giving the students feedback about their performance, you will need to be able to be "in role" and observing at the same time.

Good memory: you will need to remember what student #1 did and then what student #6 did.

Enjoy working with a group of people who are truly committed to making a difference in the education of our future physicians, one student at a time.

Because the hour are flexible this allows you to participate in medical research activities also giving you an extra source of income .

Study 474 :Olfactory Function in Relatives of Patients with Parkinson\'s
Pennsylvania
Recruits from this area
Type of StudyHELP PARKINSONS

NON INVASIVE RESEARCH

This is an entirely mail based study that does not involve any type of medication.
Aim of StudyWe are looking to recruit blood relatives of individuals with PD for a
new study that we are doing here at The University of Pennsylvania (however, you may participate from any location as it is done entirely by mail). The goal of the study is to develop a tool for early diagnosis of PD, 5-15 years before physical symptoms appear.
This will allow treatment to commence sooner, which will hopefully
delay the progression of the disease. Further, the information we will
learn about the initial stages of PD may help us develop a cure
someday.
Inclusion Criteria Participants must have a first degree relatives (parent, sibling or child) with Parkinsons.
Exclusion Criteria Must not have Parkinson's disease or another neurological disorder.
Must be a non smoker
AreaAny location within the United States.
Duration The mail packet we will send you will take approximately 30 minutes to complete.
Reimbursement All participants will recieve a $5.00 Blockbuster Gift card.

Type of StudyBioequivalence testing of generic drugs. Seeking healthy adults to participate as paid volunteers in our research studies.
Inclusion Criteria* Over 18 years of age
* No history of a severe medical problem (including asthma, ulcers, cancer, hypoglycemia, diabetes, convulsions or intestinal problems)
* Not taking prescription medications or over-the-counter drugs on a regular basis

* No diet restrictions, including milk and dairy products
Have reliable transportation and phone number

AreaSt. Charles, MISSOURI .
Volunteers must be able to attend the clinic in Missouri.
DurationA typical study would require a study participant to stay at our clinic a minimum of two times (referred to as Period I and Period II), usually about 36 to 48 hours at a time. One dose of the generic or brand name medication would be given to each study participant during Periods I and II. After receiving the medication, several blood draws are taken (usually between 15 and 20) during that day. You may be required to come back for subsequent blood draws once or twice a day for a few days after you leave the study. The total amount of blood taken throughout the entire study is usually less than what is collected by the Red Cross at one time. The majority of our studies are performed on weekends (typically you would check in on a Friday evening about 7:30 p.m. and leave Sunday morning about 7 a.m., or come in Saturday evening and leave Monday morning). We also have studies during the week.
ReimbursementCompensation for studies varies, depending on length of time, number of return blood draws required, etc. The average study usually pays around $500, but can vary from $300 to $4,000.
Other InfoAccommodations during your stay include dormitory-style bunkrooms, private showers, cable TV, VCR, pool table, movies, board games and visiting hours. We have a quiet room for reading or studying, and areas where you can plug in your computer if you wish to bring it in (sorry, no Internet access). Food is catered. Due to the fact that we are performing metabolism studies, you are not allowed to bring in snacks or beverages; everyone is required to eat the same food at the same time.
