Type of Study	Actively recruiting children and families as well as college undergraduates to a number of different research investigations. STUDY EXAMPLES Transition to Parenting Project (TTP) In this study we are inviting women who are pregnant with their first child to participate in a study examining the various ways in which woman prepare for motherhood and then about their and their baby's earl experiences. Berkeley Puppet Interview (BPI) Study of Culture and Emotion The BPI was developed in 1990 by Drs. Ablow and Measelle to talk with young children about themselves, their families, friends, and school. In this study we are inviting 4-7 year old children to participate in a study examining the way children different cultural backgrounds (African American, American Indian, European American, Japanese, Korean, and Latino) experience and express different aspects of emotion (sadness, happiness, anxiety, anger). Study of Children and Technology In this study we are inviting children 4-7 to participate in an investigation of the role of interactive media in children's social, cognitive, and emotional development. We are particularly interested in studying the impact, both positive and not so positive, of video games on children's maturation. College Video Game Study Like the "Children and Technology" study described above, in this study we are interested in whether video game play impacts college undergraduates' attentional and problem solving capacities. In this project, participants will come to our laboratory for approximately 1-2 hours to play video games, fill out several short questionnaires, and to complete tasks designed to measure attention, impulsivity, and problem-solving abilities. U of O participants will receive research credit for course requiring research participation.

Study 402 :BRAIN IMAGING Oregon
Type of Study	MRI studies measure either tissue density (structural MRI) or oxygenation (functional MRI) of the brain.
Aim of Study	Brain Imaging Studies usually involve either a PET Scan or MRI Scan. The MRI scan does NOT use any radiation, instead the MRI scanner uses magnetic fields to takes pictures of your body. The MRI will take images of your brain that show which areas are working when you think. For these studies, you to lie inside the MRI scanner and be asked to perform mental tasks while the scanner take pictures of your brain at work. You may be strapped down to prevent you from moving during the scan. During the scan you will here a loud knocking sound,but you will not feel anything. This is not the researchers , its the MACHINE! Because of the magnetic field used by the MRI scanner, you will be required to remove all metal objects from your body, including jewelery. You will note be able to participate if you have metal implants or extensive dental work.
Inclusion Criteria	Healthy men and women, age 18 to 60 Must be Right Handed Must not have had any major past illnesses . Must not have a history of depression anxiety or mental illness . Must have no family history of mental illnesses . Must have no metal implants such as braces or pins . Must not have poor eye sight . Must not have a history of substance abuse . Must have not had serious injury or bumps to the head . Must have passed BioTrax eligibility test on the menu bar
